Small Claim Cases
Small claim cases are that a plaintiff claims payment of money, fungibles, or securities not exceeding 30 million KRW. A district court, a branch court or a municipal court hears small claim cases proceedings of which are simpler and expedient than other civil cases. In such small claims cases, hearing dates are set without any delay, and those who are in intimate relations, such as the party’s spouse or lineal relatives are able to represent the party without the court’s permission. A judgment may be rendered on the same day just after hearing is closed and the judge does not have to state reasons of the judgment in written decision.
